Happy Monday! Quick intro for anyone new since it’s been a while. I’m Jessica, I was widowed 9 years ago when my husband passed away from melanoma, I’ve been balancing a life of adventure and travel with my part-time career as a pharmacist ever since. I just built a house in my hometown in Northeastern Washington state with my boyfriend and 16 year old dog. I run my blog www.myfeetwillleadme.com as a side hustle/passion project to provide readers with inspo and destination guides. Today I’m being featured on the @howgoodsthis_podcast, run by a couple of my talented friends who are musicians/actors. I thought I’d share for anyone who wants to hear more and also to suggest a fun and unique podcast with guests of all different backgrounds. I love you guys! Thanks for all the support and love you’ve given me through the years! 📷@chris_cottrell
Can you truly enjoy a beach to yourself? Can you h Can you truly enjoy a beach to yourself? Can you honestly enjoy anything alone? I think the same places and things can be enjoyed differently by yourself or with someone else. Some of the most inspiring moments and deeply reflective, soul nourishing experiences in my life were completely alone. But a beautiful beach is great to share. What do you think?
Welcome 2021! May this be the year I can visit my Welcome 2021! May this be the year I can visit my neighbor to the north (Canada), again! Also, does anyone have any interesting or unusual resolutions or goals for the year? I need some inspiration.

I see the fork in the road ahead of me and I know I see the fork in the road ahead of me and I know I must get off my route. The need has been building in me for years, awaiting the right moment to jump off this train barreling in the wrong direction...but there is no right moment. Sometimes I lie awake at night feeling so overwhelmed by the need to find an escape plan, that I’m paralyzed by indecision. Staying the path has always been and still is the easy answer. But I’m a hamster on this wheel and if I want to at least have a crack at this other life I’ve craved for so long, I have to exit the wheel sometime. But how? Putting it into words here is simply my small attempt at manifestation and holding myself accountable.

As much as the quest for the perfect beach and isl As much as the quest for the perfect beach and island paradise thrills me, nothing quite soothes my soul and takes me home like the mountains. What’s your happy place?
The last time I traveled internationally 😱 In J The last time I traveled internationally 😱 In January for my birthday, we had THE best time on two islands in the Maldives staying in local guest houses and hotels for less than $100/night. I have two blog posts on visiting the Maldives on a budget and how to pick local islands to visit. You don’t have to spend a fortune to visit paradise. ✌🏼 Happy Sunday!
I’m sitting here at the start of my December tim I’m sitting here at the start of my December time off, watching the snow fall from my living room couch, and I’m happy. A year ago, if you would’ve told me I couldn’t travel internationally for a year, it would’ve horrified me and I would’ve felt so disappointed. Today, I’m not even mad about it. I don’t have anything planned except to soak up my time with my 16 year old dog, Griffey, bake, and if the weather cooperates, maybe go snowshoeing. I feel guilty to have the privilege to even feel gleeful during a time when so many are struggling. Perhaps this year instead of spending so much money on presents, we can put money towards those less fortunate: donate to local shelters, animal rescues, buy local families meals, ask what you can do!
I planned to visit my dad in Florida this week and I planned to visit my dad in Florida this week and skip over to Puerto Rico again like I did last year at this time. I had such an amazing solo trip to PR, that I genuinely couldn’t wait to go back. Oh well. Maybe next year.
I just published a blog post all about our experie I just published a blog post all about our experience staying in the new @skamanialodge tree houses! And I posted it on my new 2nd website I started (yes, I actually accomplished one thing during 2020), www.pnwexplored.com. With local travel being our primary way to escape this year, it seemed fitting to start a new niche site dedicated to awesome places near my home in the PNW. I put the link in my bio if you’re interested. I’m also open to guest posts. 👌🏼 #skamanialodge #skamania

This pandemic has been hard on a lot of people. Wi This pandemic has been hard on a lot of people. With the holidays upon us, it’s even harder. So many people are separated from family and feeling the heaviness. This experience is even more difficult for so many who suffer silently with mental health problems. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, eating disorders, or something else, these issues affect us or someone close to us. I personally have never understood what it feels like to battle these illnessess. But I have close family members and friends who do and it breaks my heart to witness the struggle and how much it consumes their daily lives. Did you know social media addiction is a serious mental health issues for over 200 million people worldwide? Or did you know minorities are disproportionately less likely to seek or receive the help and treatment they need to get better? So many people are suffering in silence not knowing how to ask for help. I’m partnering with Providence to spread awareness about these issues and to share a resource. You can visit the link in my bio to find resources from Providence at work2bewell.org/wellnessresources. Wishing you all so much comfort and peace during the holidays this year. @providencehealthsystem #work2BeWell #mentalhealthmatters
