Comment BALLOON and I’ll send you the link for the tour we took.

📍Cappadocia, Turkiye has perfected their sunrise hot air balloon experience and it’s probably ruined all others for the future. Not to mention it was quite affordable at around $90/person.

If you’re wondering how Crete, Greece stacks up fo If you’re wondering how Crete, Greece stacks up for costs, here’s a breakdown of what we spent to stay for almost a month. Keep in mind we paid for rent for a month but ended up leaving after 3 weeks because of flight prices to our next destination.

🏠 We rented an apartment for the month a block from the beach and about 10 minutes walk to the old town center of Chania for $986.

🌯 We ate out at least once per day, and sometimes twice. But we often had a quick meals like gyros or shared an appetizer and main and didn’t really do any fine dining. Plus we don’t really drink. Total came to $791.

☕️ We went to @monogram.gr every single day, sometimes twice, because it’s incredible, and had a flat white or two. $190

🛒 Between the grocery store, farmers market, and bakery for a baguette every few days, we spent $167 to make daily breakfast and a big salad for lunches every few days.

🚗 We rented two cars separately over the 3 weeks because it was cheaper than renting one the entire time. It’s worth playing around with rental dates and times when booking a car because availability changes. $318

⛽️ We drive around A LOT. Most days we drove for hours all over the island and Crete is quite large. $314 for 3 weeks.

👚 Miscellaneous stuff like I got a warmer sweater and pants, beach towels, coffee beans to bring home, Tupperware and a dish towel for the apartment $188.

🥾 Activities were minimal and included entrance to certain popular beaches or trails. We didn’t go to a lot of paid museums or do any tours. $33

✈️ Flights from Marseille, France were $130 for both of us.

Naturally additional expenses would be flying roundtrip from home and to the next destination. We went to Cyprus next so I’ll do that 10 day expense reel soon!

Georgia had eluded me for years because flights ar Georgia had eluded me for years because flights aren’t always affordable, but the best flight connections are probably from Türkiye. We arrived from Yerevan, Armenia by taking a collective van booked on the GG taxi app. They drive you across the border to Tbilisi and the process was pretty straightforward and easy. Once in Tbilisi, the Bolt app works great. To get around the country, I recommend renting a car either with Local Rent (best rate) or DiscoverCars. If you’re hesitant to drive, organize a day trip with GoTrip or book a shared marshrutka van which has a set route.

Where: Georgia doesn’t seem that big but it takes a long time to get around. The popular mountain region is Kazbegi but there are other more remote mountainous regions we want to return for. The little town of Sighnaghi in the wine region is a fantastic spot to spend a night. And of course you need to spend time in the awesome city of Tbilisi, at least 3 days in my opinion. I could spend a month there easily. There are endless monasteries all over the country. My favorite was probably in Kazbegi, Gergeti Trinity Church.
📍Cappadocia, Türkiye Who else grew up on Indiana 📍Cappadocia, Türkiye

Who else grew up on Indiana Jones? It’s literally still my favorite trilogy!

Cappadocia is a playground for history nerds and Indiana Jones wannabes. This open air museum was incredible and I couldn’t stop thinking about all the humans throughout history who had to use these dwellings to survive, rather than for fun and entertainment like me.

I wish I could say my camera roll is all epic shot I wish I could say my camera roll is all epic shots but if I’m being honest, it was mostly coffee and food. I am who I am.

Searching for the best espresso and food is our way of getting to know a new destination. We spend hours walking or learning public transportation with the sole purpose of indulging our taste buds. But it’s a great way to get some exercise, learn about a city and its neighborhoods, and talk to locals.
